Thank You and Goodbye

Our minister is leaving us after being at our church for 7 years. He is also my boss as I work at the church. The staff got together and had a good bye lunch for him several weeks ago. Though we had a gift at the last minute we realized we didn't have a card so I quickly made this one up.
I find it fairly easy to come up with a quick design for women. There are alway flower stamps, but I find it much more challenging to come up with something that is masculine. From what I read this seems to be a common problem for many stampers and card makers. I am going to make this a challenge for my self. Coming up with attractive designs for masculine cards. I like this one but it seems to be missing that extra spark that takes it out of the "homemade card" category.

I agree, Suzanne - men's cards are the hardest cards to do. There don't seem to be many stamps orientated to men's cards either. I do like this one you made for your Minister - I guess everyone is sad about him leaving. I sure would be if we lost our Pastor!

To answer your question, yes, the bg on the dragonfly card is a cuttlebugged one. I have a friend who has a Cuttlebug machine and lets me use it! Isn't she nice? A Cuttlebug machine is on my wish list too :-)

Amy (my Cuttlebug friend who is also an SU! Demo) came up here to do a workshop for me last weekend, and now I am thinking of becoming a Hobby Stamper with SU! Any thoughts on that?? I love stamps and stamping and it seems to be a good deal if you become a Hobby STamper.

SU! wants us to get a minimum of $500 per quarter. We aren't due for a new catty for awhile because we just got one :-) it has 160 pages. I doubt it has everything in it that the USA has and they do seem to be sending us retired stamps from the US sometimes. They are all new to us unless we go on the Internet and look at SCS so it is still great to get them.

And I decided last night that I would join up - have to save for a couple of weeks and then it will be all 'go'!
