AN AWARD AND THANKS!

I was blessed with receiving this special award from my blogging buddy in Australia, Susan. She is a doll and her BLOG is wonderful. Visit it and you will be treated not only to great cards and scrapbook layouts, but also marvelous photos. Stop by and check it out.

And who will I pass this on to.......there are several sites I regularly visit that so deserve this.

One is Sarah Stamper. She has been making wonderful album books lately using her Bind It All. These are NOT to be missed. If I ever get extra dollars to play with this amazing tool is going to be at the top of my list. (Right up there with a Score Pal, Nesties, and other assorted goodies!)

Second is Christi and her BLOG Story About a Girl. Her work is also amazing. A very talented young lady. She used a wild variety of stamps and is very adapt with card style ranging from contemporary to classic.

Finally, though I know she has already recieved this award from Susan, I need to add and echo by also giving this to Lee for the amazing sharing of her creations on her BLOG My Reality...It's All Good. Her reality may be good, but her cards are even better! This is one talented lady! But don't take my word check her out your self.

There are so many more that are deserving of this award, but I will stop here. Thank you to all who stop by here and leave a comment or two. I really do appreciate all the encouragement that you give.

NO STAMPING BUT TAGGED!

I've been busily getting ready for a yard sale we held at our church today so haven't had time the past few days to stamp or sew. It sure seemed like I sold a lot of stuff, but at days end it only added up to $100. Oh well I guess it takes a lot of 25 and 50 cent items with a few items over $1 to make up that amount of money. Also it is a $100 more than I had this morning and my house is at least a bit lighter!

Anyway I was tagged by a BLOGing and FLYing buddy Teresa who can be found at Tilting at Windmills and now must share some UNimportsnt facts about myself......common Teresa there's nothing UNimportant about me....yeah right! So here goes......

1. I lived in the same house when I was growing up for 15 years and said I would never live that long in one place again. We have now lived in our current home 25 years and have no immediate plans for moving!
2. I have worked at my current job which is at our church for 11 years which is 9 years longer than any other job (paying that is) I have held.
3. I cannot crochet or tat, both of which I have tried many times and failed each time! Oh can't paint anything other than a stamped image either.
4. I have way to many LP albums, cassette tapes and VHS tapes. All of which technology has or is making obsolete! And I can't stand the thought of just throwing them away.
   
5. I have been married going on 37 years and other than baby room and children's room furniture we have purchased new 7 pieces of furniture. Rest of furnishings are yard sale or "early family attic" which was only to be used as newly weds till we found something better!
6. We drive our cars into the ground before we get rid of them.

A SNAILS PACE

Todays card is on honor of how I feel today has been going.
I feel like I have been moving at a snails pace all day and consequently not much has been completed.

I just love this little lady snail. I'm claiming she's a lady because what self respecting male snail would have flowers growing out of his head and decorating his shell.

This is another of the images that I colored this spring when I was in North Carolina visiting my mom. I'm just about finished using those images. But I have plans for coloring lots more while visiting Kansas City in three weeks for a wonderful stamping gathering. I have discovered I really like having a supply of precolored images ready to go when I need a quick card. I can spend my limited time on layout and embellishments since the coloring is all done.

Also I want to tell you all (if you don't already know) about some amazing BLOG candy give aways. If you haven't yet visited Diane's Designs or Lee's My Reality....It's all Good! You are definitely missing out on some good stuff. And when I say good stuff I am not just referring to the chance to win BLOG candy. These two women are amazing paper crafters. I guarantee you will not be dissappointed by either of them. They also are amazing women. You will have to put some though into possibly winning their candy though they have some specific questions for you so be prepared. (Don't worry they aren't hard questions!)

One final thing and then I am off to bed. Lee gave me this wonderful award. First of all thank you so much Lee. I look forward to your visits here and reading your comments. Even more though I look forward to seeing you again in three weeks. (Yes, Lee AND Diane will be at that special Kansas City gathering mentioned earlier in this post. So look for wonderful creations to come!) Secondly isn't this a beautiful award. It fits right into my love of quilting as well as stamping. Thirdly the hard part. I so want to send on this award to someone special. I have quite a list of BLOGs I read regularly and you know what Lee already awarded this same award to most of them. Isn't this little guy just too cute! Thank you to Christi for giving me this reward and her kind words. She certainly made my day by giving it to me. And he (the bunny) makes me smile just looking at him. I will have to work on finding folks to award this to. There are many out there that make my day. They give me inspiration and call me friend as I do them. Many of them I have already awarded a earlier version of this award, but they all still deserve the award! Lee, Susan, Teresa, Beth, Diane, and Sarah. You are all fantastic. And there are other stamping friends who are inspiration but don't have BLOGS. Thank you to all of you and consider yourself awarded this award every time I visit your sites or few your creations elsewhere. A LITTLE GET TO KNOW ME FUN!

I got this list of question's from Leslie's BLOG. IF you decide to take these questions and answer them on your BLOG please let me know so I can visit and learn more about you!

1. If your doctor told you TODAY that you were pregnant, what would you say? Considering my age I would probably first say "you must be kidding!" and then I would pass out!

2. When was the last time you flew in a plane? August 2007 coming home from Stampin' Up's convention in Denver.

3. What did the last text message you sent say? I don't even know how to send a text message!

4. What features do you find most attractive in the opposite sex? understanding and support

5. What is a goal you would like to accomplish in the near future? To live a healthy lifestyle without having to think about it. (Leslie's answer but I like it!)

6. Shoe size? 11, but at almost 6 feet tall I'm allowed to have big feet or I would fall over! Now that doesn't mean I like the way shoes look on them though!

7. Been to Mexico? Yes on a cruise in 2000. Cozumel

8. When is the last time you had a massage? A seated massage in 2006. Full massage never!

9. What was the last TV show you watched? I'm embarrassed to say General Hospital, but that's because I watch the soaps while I craft or cook.

10. What are your plans for the weekend? Saturday I'm taking a class on how to clean and maintain my Featherweight sewing machine. Then Sunday I'm going to watch the Super Bowl and stamp!

11. If your significant other asked you to marry them TODAY what would you say? That depends............

12. What is in the back seat of your car right now? A reusable Giant grocery bag, a Stampin' Up tote bag with craft magazines, an umbrella and a bottle of water. Probably also a few other odds and ends.

13. What were you doing at 8 am this morning? Lying in bed thinking I really should get up!

14. If you could marry any celebrity today who would it be? Nope not interested in marrying any of them except maybe Paul Newman since he's shown he believes in being committed to his marriage.

15. Have you ever been to a strip club? Nope!

16. What is the best ice cream flavor? Mocha Almond Fudge or anything else with chocolate and nuts!

17. What is the last sporting event you watched? The Giants vs Green Bay game

18. Ever go camping? Since my DH loves to camp and thinks it is the only way to vacation yes. More often than you probably care to know about.

19. Last phone call? Some one in the area that wants me to provide crafty entertainment for her 7 year old daughters birthday party.

20. Are you allergic to anything? Not that I am aware of.

21. What is one thing you have learned about life recently? That it can be short and you have no idea how long your life may be or how short.

22. What do you do at work? A little bit of this and a lot of that! I work at my church and though I have an official job title my duties are "what ever no one else wants or remembers to do.

23. What is your mom's name? Vera

24. Ever cried for no reason? For some reason I rarely cry even when there is a reason. I find this very annoying!

25. Can you do the Crank Dat dance? Refer to Question #1's answer concerning age. I have no idea what you are even talking about! BUT I can do the Twist!

26. What is your favorite color to wear? Black

27. What is the longest plane ride you have ever been on? About 8 hours to Amsterdam.

28. What is the longest road trip you have ever taken? Oh my there have been so many long ones. Probably the longest though was the 5 week camping trip we took out kids on where we traveled out west and covered 8500 miles total,

29. What are your turn-offs? Not sure I have any. Can't think of any at the moment. Oh I just thought of one...people who think they know better than I do how I should live my life.

30. What was your last alcoholic beverage? A nice glass of Cabernet Sauvignon

31. What are you craving right now? A nice glass of Cabernet Sauvignon! But I will head to bed instead.

I'VE BEEN TAGGED!!!!

Susan has tagged me and so now while I am gathering up energy to connect my computer to the scanned and take a few photos of some projects my daughter and I worked on yesterday I will offer a few facts about myself. 7 random facts according to the rules Susan sent. So here goes....

1. I lived in the same house 14 years when I was growing up and swore I would never live in the same house that long again....well never say never....I've lived in the house I'm currently living in for 24 years and there are no plans to move anytime soon!!!!
2. I love Disney World and would vacation there for a week every year and be very happy! Alas I haven't been in almost 10 years.
3. At 5 foot 11 inches tall I am the shortest person in my immediate family. I never thought I would be the shorty!
4. If I won a million dollars I would quit my job and devote myself to teaching quilting and stamping to others, and I would make quilts and cards to give away to people in need.
5. I am working had to clear my home of 24 years of accumulated clutter. Made some progress in 2007, but still have a long way to go....anyone want some counted cross stitch patterns? I have lots of them.....
6. (WOW 7 is a BIG number!) I am one of the few women in this world who has allowed her hair to go gray in a pattern and time frame that God sees fit. (actually I'm to cheap to pay someone to color my hair and too untalented when it comes to such things to do it myself)
7. In 2008 I hope to learn how to cook in a more healthy manner.
