I am finally getting around to making my Thank You cards. I am also having fun using loved stamp sets that haven't been used for a while. I am trying to keep them simple, partly because I have a lot of them to make and partly because I am discovering I really like crisp clean cards.
This is one of the designs I came up with. I love the Geometric background stamp and was sad to see SU retire it several years ago. I find it very useful when I am struggling with masculine cards. The other stamp set used here is All About U which was just retired last month. I stamped the U with night of navy craft ink and then embossed it with the Hologram embossing powder which also retired. Right about now I am thinking I am glad that I am a hobby demo with SU and I can still use my retired sets with a clear conscience. It's hard to tell from my scan but the card is done on confetti white card stock. Two eyelets and some gingham ribbon on mellow moss card stock finish off the card and at least one person will get a thank you from me "sooner rather than later!".

Wow, Suzanne, you are a busy person! I love the idea of your projects - the recipe card holder looks fabulous - love the long-legged chickens! LoL! I was going to do one of those with a CM picfolio album that has a magnetic strap to stand it up with - you can insert other recipes behind the one you are reading from. And I had heard about the 365 days challenge. Someone from a forum I am on is completing it too. I never worry about retired sets being used either sicne I am also a hobby demo - and who can afford to just ignore those lovely tools?? See you again soon :-)
Those are really fun Suzanne!! The geometricalish (I just made up a word!!! LOL) bg is very cool!!
I like your gingham ribbon through the eyelet holes. Darling card. A quilter!!! I have tried sewing machine quilting...and Iknow that probably doesn't really count but I enjoyed.
Love this! The geometric background is just right!
This card is wonderful. Way to go on getting your TY worked on. :0)
Hi Suzanne - just stopping by after your nice comments on my blog :-) The flower card is made using circles, yes. I just used double sided paper and folded the two opposite sides in till they made a point and were small enough for me to fit nine around the circle. You probably have a wonderful quilter's technique for figuring our exactley how wide they each should be - if so, do tell me!! ANd thanks so much for the comments on my roses - I had a lot of fun shading them so am so glad they were effective! Roses are my favourite flower...
Have a wonderful day! It's rainy here but we're going out anyway :-)
